2/18/08 My Thoughts & Mumbles :)

Yes it's that time again lol, No I'm just kidding.

As you've noticed I've updated my blog once again Miss Vannah Nowhere has had me on her own personal mission of pagaents lol But luckyly this time I wasn't a judge at the pagaent just an innocent bystander watching everything. Oh before you think, oh gosh! Ang is on the rampage about another pagaent, nope not this time. I was very impressed with the way it was run, from the application process thru the end to the winner of the pageant. Hard to believe from start to finish of the night of the show, it was 3 hours long, with only 5 very pretty and lovely little girls competing against one another. Lots of catagories for this one, let me see if I can remember them, casual, swimming suit, talent, formal and interview. I know that after having looked at the application that there was a portfolio, eyes, smile, photogenic & hair catagories as well. I hope I didn't miss any but I could have.

All the little girls that participated in this all did a wonderful job. I'm so glad that I wasn't a judge in this, I can't even imagine how hard that job was for this pagaent. During the interview part of the pageant I was able to take a picture of the girls. (shown below)

This is the way they were seated during the interview part of the competition. Yup like Susie on the spot type of thing, which was very cool. We got to watch them wiggle and moan when it came to their turn to answer questions lol Naww I'm just kidding, they all did a very good job on their answers, I was personally highly impressed.

I cant remember who won what that night, but I can tell you which of the catagories Miss Vannah won: Best hair, smile, portfolio, best in casual, best in formal. She tied with Aura for the overall competition and for the crown. Which I thought was great!

All the ladies did a wonderful job and all deserve the crown as far as I could tell. Congrats to each of you ladies for a job well done :)

See I told you it wasn't going to be bad this time around :P So until the next time, I'm sure my thoughts & mumbles will pop up again another time, Miss Vannah has more pagaents coming up that she's already warned me about, I tried to hide and it didn't do me a bit of good, she found me LOL So much for hiding.......

Dots & Stripes Outfit released 2/17/08

This is the other outfit that was made for the pageant that Vannah was in recently. When I was making this I took a picture of it to send to one of my other little girls models and asked her what she thought and her reaction was "Miss Ang! OMG your not suppose to mix dots and stripes" Yes I know the worst thing a designer can do is mix dots and stripes, but once I got going on it, and got it finished I fell in love with it. I couldn't decided if it was a casual outfit or more like PJ's, I guess it could be both. But it was made as a casual outfit for Vannah for her pageant. This outfit has alot of prim pieces and different ways it can be woren. As with the formal, Vannah won best in casual outfit wearing this, so I'd have to say, screw the personna that dots and stripes don't go together! LOL

Vannah's Midnight Flexi Formal Dress released 2/17/08

This dress along with a casual outfit was created for Vannah for the Miss Lil Chic and Lil pageant (I hope I got that right...eek! lol) I did something I don't normally do when she asks me to make her pageant clothes, I asked her what color she wanted, she said medium to dark blue, I was like woah for a little girl this should be interesting. It turned out very pretty and Vannah looked exceptionally beautiful in it. :) Don't let the color scare you, it's a very girly girl dress. Vannah won the catagory of best in formal at the pagaent wearing it, so it can't be that bad :)

Hearts of Valentine's Formal Flexi Dress released 1/24/08

Another Valentine's Limited Edition just until the 15th of February. Yes I had to do it in pink! What is Valentine's Day without Pink?!?! This is a very girlie dress for those that have that urge to look and feel like a princess on Valentine's day. *psst to all parents reading this, this would be perfect for your lil princess for Valentine's Day*

Valentine's Hearts & Stars Formal Flexi Dress released 1/24/08

Just in time for Valentine's Day! This dress is out for limited time only, February 15th it will be taken down until next year. I've had alot of requests for something other than pastels so I decided to do something major different for me. It's black with Bright Pink Hearts and Stars on the skirt. Also I'm trying something new with sculpted sleeves, which I'm finding quite fun to work with so you might be seeing more of those in the future.

Vannah's Holly Christmas Formal Dress

This Dress was made just for Vannah for the pageant last week. Personally the pictures don't do it justice you'd have to see it to get the full effect of it. What you don't see in the picture is the fact that it blings, there is bling all over this dress from top to bottom. The bling scripts have been removed and because of that the bling does not turn off on the dress and nor should it cause to much lagg issues for you, that was the reason the scripts were removed with all that spots that bling it would have been over 15 scripts and that was just too much in my opinion so I thought it was best to remove the scripts to cut down on lag issues.

When I was creating this dress a joke of sorts came about between Vannah, Daniella and myself, I was told that there needs to be a *warning* message included with this dress because of the amount of prims and bling that are on it. Yes it's very primy and lots of bling. But I doubt it will crash sims or islands but that was our joke. It's a beautiful dress and very Christmasey.

Cream & Roses Outfit - Released 12/6/07

This outfit was 1 of the 2 that I made for Vannah for the pageant she was in about a week ago. It's a very soft and girly casual outfit. Dress it up with the right shoes and maybe some jewelry and it might look more dressey. There is a different prim top piece that comes with this that wasn't pictured, yes I was bad again, I forgot to have her put it on during the pictures :(

White w/Red Roses Flowergirls Dress - released 12/6/07

Hate to say this but this dress was made back in July and kinda forgotten about until recently when I realized it was never released. I know I know not a good thing lol Better late than never I suppose in this case.

Some of my thoughts of an recent event:

I normally don't give out my thoughts and opinions on what goes on in sl, I just basically use this as a space for my Little Girls Clothes for those that like me get lazy from time to time and want to see it and not have to run to the store to do that before they decide if they want to buy an outfit I've just released for sale. But I really think that after pondering the thoughts of this for a few days that I need to say my thoughts on it.

I recently had the privilege of being a judge for a Little Girls Pageant (name of pageant withheld). I thought this is going to be really cool, I had never been a judge in one, so I was excited at being able to participate in it. Being nosey as I can be from time to time and liking to know who the other judges and participants in the pageant were going to be, just to familiarize myself with everyone, I soon found that something just didn't seem right to me personally. Maybe it's just me and maybe others will sit and read this and shake their heads in total agreement with me. But in all honesty I think that mothers/godmother/aunts/uncles/best friends or anyone associated with any of the participants in the pageant should NOT be a judge/host/or the person that is running and putting it together. That to me screams loudly FIXED results. I just wonder where the fairness in that comes in. I know that I personally shouldn't have been a judge for the pageant, because of having an association with one of the participants who is one of my Little Girl Models of whom I also made her clothes for this pageant in question. I figured that I could be very unbiased in my judging of all the girls and I honestly felt that I was. But to be fair I probably shouldn't have been a judge for it, for the purpose alone that I could have been very unbiased with her because of my association with her, but I wasn't and my score card proved that. No my model that was in the pageant did not win it. I told her before the pageant that it's not about winning or losing it's about having fun and doing something that you love to do.

There was 2 parts to the pageant there was a casual wear & formal wear. I really feel that I need to have someone clarify to me what casual wear is, because unless it's changed that was far from being casual LOL. The only way I can honestly describe the clothes are "Pollyanna Ruffle/Frilly Dresses" very lovely dresses but not something that I'd consider to be casual. Something that I'd consider more for um a tea party or some dressy event not for a casual part of a pageant. Most of the little girls had formal dresses on, and I have to say those that did looked beautiful in them, the 3 girls that came in 1st, 2nd & 3rd place weren't wearing formals. That I'll never understand.

I had been hearing about how the pageant was fixed and it's not even worth judging because my opinions wouldn't count in it. I always thought that judges stayed impartial and didn't give away who they were voting for, that wasn't the case in this pageant with one of the judges, they made it clear who their vote went for when that participant came down the stage. I soon found out that that's the way it was. I don't know what the other 2 judges had on their score cards but I can pretty much say mine didn't look like theirs.

I guess I just had to post about this because I feel that it was very biased and unfair fixed judging in this pageant. Most of these participants were blindsided with it, a few had an inkling about it. But for the most part I was really disappointed and shocked. I know that 1 or more of the girls were upset over the results. I don't think it was about them not winning it, but more about the unfair judging of it.

I won't claim to know anything about running, setting up or even participating in a pageant, as I myself have never done it. But common sense tells me that if you are going to be someone that sets up/runs/hosts/judges a pageant than for it to be a fairly judged event that you not have any association with any of the participants in the pageant. It just makes it more fair in my eyes and I hope that others that might read this will also see my point and possibly agree.

2007 Limited Edition Christmas Dress - Released 12/01/07

This dress is limited to 30. It's more expensive than my past years, there is alot of work that went into this adorable dress. Between the dress it's self, shoes and Jewelry it's one of the best Christmas Dresses I've made, but of course that's just in my opinion :) It's now on sale in my main store. I have 8 copies left at this time. When it's gone it's gone.

2 of these outfits are geared more towards Fall coming up and the pink flexi dress was a freebee that I gave out to my group members about a month ago, and is no longer available in the group notices and the only way to get this dress is to buy it.
